Business partners Oliver Zak and Selom Agbitor have tapped into an underserved market with their tattoo aftercare business, Mad Rabbit Tattoo. By properly moisturizing the skin over tattoos, their ink remains vibrant and resists fading over time. Oliver and Selom have created a moisturizer that blends 7 all-natural ingredients that, when applied to a tattoo, helps bring it back to life and prevent it from fading over time. Mad Rabbitt Tattoo is focused on providing care to the body art that consumers have so thoughtfully chosen for themselves.

Selom and Oliver have had great initial success with Mad Rabbit Tattoo. By generating more than 90,000 Instagram followers, the pair are projecting to close the year at $3,000,000 in sales. They believe that their early success can be attributed to working with influencers who are helping to drive social traffic and sales. They are hoping to partner with a Shark that can help them grow their subscription-based services and expand their market share. Seeking $500,000 in exchange for 5% of Mad Rabbit Tattoo, Oliver and Selom are hoping to secure a partner that will not only support their company financially but strategically as well.

Impressed by Oliver and Selom as entrepreneurs, as well as by their business success, both Mark Cuban and Kevin O’Leary were eager to partner with Mad Rabbit Tattoo. The other Sharks felt as though they were already so successful, as evidenced by their sales and profitability, that they really didn’t have anything to offer them that would add to their success. Kevin offered to invest $500,000 as a venture debt deal with 9.75% interest and 5% equity. Mark Cuban offered to invest $500,000 in exchange for 12% equity. Oliver and Selom ultimately decided to accept Mark’s partnership deal.

Do you think that they made a mistake by partnering with Mark Cuban? Do you feel that Kevin O’Leary could have brought more to the table for Mad Rabbit Tattoo? If you were a Shark would you have invested in the company? Start the conversation in the comments below!
